Our mission is to educate and empower people to make conscious and informed decisions about their relationships with the landscape they call home and the people they share it with. We incorporate the philosophies and practices of permaculture, keyline design, agroforestry, systems thinking, Holistic Management, ecoforestry, and applied ecology to frame our vision of a future where people become artful stewards of their bioregion and strive to continually improve it's health, fertility, and fruitfulness for generations to come.
To help manifest this vision...
We Teach
We've shared our insights, knowledge and experience with over 1000 students during the past 15 years. We host in-depth one and two day workshops at our 'homestead skills and ecological design' school. And we regularly partner with fellow educators, designers, farmers, and activists in Maine, Boston, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. We teach lectures, courses, and workshops that range from an hour to two weeks in length on a wide range of subjects. And while we do focus much of our work in this bioregion, we will gladly bring out content and experience to students and sites far afield. Click here to view our upcoming events.
We Consult
Since 2008, Keyline Vermont LLC has served well over 100 landowners throughout northeastern North America, the Midwest, Rockies, Pacific Northwest, Mexico, Greece and the Balkans. We offer both remote and on-site consulting services.
We Design
We serve families, individuals, communities, businesses, and institutions, and adapt our design process to suit the unique needs of each project. Depending on the scale, scope and client needs, our designs can range from detailed and in-depth master plans to back-of-the-envelope sketches. We work to help facilitate (literally - 'to make easier') your land use and management decisions and offer you only the help you actually need. Learn more about our process here.
