Consultation
We offer on-site and remote consulting services with a particular emphasis on whole systems planning; permaculture and keyline design; agroforestry; infrastructure layout, staging and implementation; and ecological water management.
We typically begin by recommending a 2-3 hour site visit. This preliminary introduction includes in-depth, pre-visit client goals articulation, remote site analysis using aerial maps and GIS datasets, along with an intensive site walk, where we analyze the resources and constraints of each unique site and develop broad prescriptions that aim to match client goals with ecological realities. This is our most popular service and most often our most high yielding for the time and financial investment. We charge $300 for this service for sites within a 30 minute drive of New Haven, Vermont and adjust our costs accordingly for properties further afield with additional fees for fuel and travel time.
Design
Generally, our working relationships begin with a preliminary site visit. For clients looking for more in-depth recommendations and planning support, we offer a range of design services. We tailor the depth and breadth of our design services to match the needs and budget of each client. This may include site mapping, in-depth site analysis, concept planning, schematic develop, detailed design, and phase planning. We can help flesh out project budgets and assist with management and implementation.
To best serve our customers, we offer a sliding scale fee schedule for our design services. Click here to contact us and learn more.
Keyline Plowing
For nearly a decade we offered custom subsoil plowing services to dozens of clients in and around Vermont using our Yeomans Keyline Plow. Currently, we rent our three shank keyline plow $250 per day with discounts for multi-day rentals. Landowners need to bring their own trailer to our farm where we will load the plow. On site, they will need to a 50 horsepower tractor minimum. Depending on terrain and the rockiness of the soil, we anticipate subsoiling rates of 4-10 acres per day.
